Welcome!

Voyager Project are an original rock band from the Staffordshire Moorlands, currently comprising singer and guitarist Martin Cliffe, bass player and lyricist Ed Cooke, and drummer Eva Cliffe. We've been going since 1999, but it was 2010 before our first album, Where Angels Fear To Tread, was released. This was quickly followed by 2011's We're Not Alone. If you like your music melodic, thought-provoking, and perhaps a little quirky, then we may be something you'd enjoy listening to. We've undergone many changes in our 13 years together, and while it's certainly been a rocky road, we have continued to develop and mould our own musical style. We draw inspiration from a wide range of sources, from progressive rock acts such as Marillion, Porcupine Tree and Pink Floyd, and from more mainstream acts like Alter Bridge, Vertical Horizon and many others.

Even back in 1999, when we formed (the line-up then comprising Martin on bass and vocals, John Wilkinson on guitar and Rob Ogden on keyboards), we had difficulty securing a drummer and maintaining a stable line-up... a problem that has blighted us throughout our career. Ed came on board in 2002, and has been ever-present since (albeit stepping back from the bass chair for a short while in 2009-10), allowing Martin to concentrate on guitar. We're grateful that the amazing Edwin Li has been able to play drums for us on several occasions, often at the last minute. Currently Eva finds herself, albeit perhaps only temporarily (due to other commitments) in the drumming hotseat. Martin himself has played the drums on most of Voyager Project's recorded material.

Key members of the band who are no longer part of the VP line-up include the aforementioned Rob Ogden (keyboards and guitars, 1999-2007 and 2010-12), Dan Guerrard (keyboards and vocals, 2007-12), Jacqueline Cable (lead vocals, 2008-09), Ann-Marie Leighton (lead vocals, 2006-07), Pete Cooke (guitars, 2005-07) and Aynsley Sutton (bass guitar, 2009-10).
